Houses In Multiple Occupation (HMOs)
Changes in the Housing Act of 2004 means that properties which are classified as Houses in Multiple Occupation must be licensed as a HMO and meet the required standards.
Fire safety is crucial in houses in multiple occupation and as such, properties should be fitted with smoke detectors to give early warning in case of fire. There are strict rules which must be adhered to for the smoke alarms to be fitted correctly to meet required standards.
DMG provide a full service to meet HMO requirements and standards. Further information about HMOs can be found at http://www.communities.gov.uk/hmo
Periodic Inspection Report
The institute of Electrical Engineers (IEE) recommends that rental property electrics are tested on each change of tenancy. We can inspect and test your property’s electrical installation and rectify any problems to ensure your tenants will be safe.
